quarter, I learned the hard truth that sometimes layoffs don’t care about performance, loyalty, or effort. Sometimes you truly are just a number on a spreadsheet.But tonight, I’m reminding myself that a job does not define me. My family does.Next week, my oldest biological daughter graduates high school with a 4.3 weighted GPA and an incredible academic record. She heads to Texas Tech to pursue a pre-law degree. Watching her chase big dreams reminds me what all the long hours and sacrifices were for. 2/6

My oldest son graduates junior high after years of fighting through a public school system while navigating significant Level 2 Autism. If you know our story, then you know this milestone was never guaranteed. He has worked harder than most people will ever understand, and I could not be more proud of him.One daughter is finishing her Occupational Therapy Master’s program. Another is pursuing Dental Hygiene. Four more kids are making their way through middle school and junior high, each with their own dreams, challenges, and victories. 3/6

My husband lives the life of a rancher and horse trainer, one of the hardest working people I know. It’s not a career you choose for wealth.
