I have come to the conclusion, that the typology community directly reflects the fears of the e4, specifically the so4, when characterizing the enneagram. Most and many see the so4 as an innocent, crybaby with no emotional depth other than self-pitying wallowing in its own ‘shame’ while translating all of that live. This fully correlates to the so4’s fear of being misunderstood, as this portrayal is based off of stereotypes and no actual concrete evidence apart from shortened descriptions. 1/3

If the typology community actually had the kindness of reading about the so4s, which most do not and base enneas off tiktok representation, they’d find that the so4 is much deeper than that. First of all, the misconception that so4s constantly trauma dump is inadequate, as the reality is far from that. So4s only ever share their issues with the ones closest to them and mostly prefer to sit and wait until someone finds out that they are suffering, instead of constantly projecting it. 2/3

So4s aren’t crybabies either and can be rather selfish when it comes to feelings, even if they are highly sensitive and at times very empathetic. And lastly, the stereotype that so4s are innocent directly contradicts the reality as well. So4s are dark, at times brooding and melancholic. They know too much and feel too much, which makes the ‘innocent little baby’ stereotype even more frustrating. In conclusion, so4s are very falsely represented in media and it’s rather annoying seeing this as a so4. 3/3
