“Open” used to mean something specific.These days, it’s mostly become “open to interpretation.”And that’s the real problem with a lot of engineering buzzwords right now. The name stays the same while the meaning drifts.QA feels the cost of that drift first.Because when the marketing term is vague, the expectations are vague. And then tests become guesswork, release readiness becomes a debate, and “works in staging” turns into a production incident.I don’t care what it’s called.I care whether we can do two boring things consistently:1. Define what “correct” means
